Mike Figgis is a director whose more recent work has almost exclusively been on the cutting edge of creative digital filmmaking. Figgis’ works, such as Timecode, have been lauded for playing with the concept of time and digital technology, but he has also received critical acclaim for his more traditional narrative films such as Internal Affairs and Leaving Las Vegas.

Bonnie and Clyde

Then-controversial heist film smash redefined Hollywood for a generation.
Impossible question to answer but - Bonnie and Clyde still works for me now and I think will continue to do so for some time because it is essentially a modern film and all of the things we look for in great work are there - narrative, visual and text based, innovative use of shock tactics in a context of characters that we care about. Bonnie and Clyde.
Q2 What excites you about the future of the moving image?
What excites me about the future of film? Well, it's changing so fast (for the worse as well as the better) that inevitably it is recreating itself and the language it uses. This means we are in for an interesting transitional period.
