BFI Future Film Festival Pre-selection Panel Volunteers

Are you a short film lover? Apply to join the Future Film Festival 2017 pre-selection team.

The BFI Future Film Festival is looking for enthusiastic and committed short film lovers to become part of its new pre-selection team. We are looking for people who have a strong interest in film curation and festival programming, and a genuine passion for short films.

As these are unpaid positions, this opportunity is suitable for people looking to develop their knowledge of programming in a festival environment.

Pre-selectors will support our Festival Co-ordinator. We expect each team member to commit to watching around 150 short films between September and December 2016, via our online submissions platform. Candidates should be UK-based (preferably London) and will be expected to attend an introductory meeting as well as 1 or 2 programming meetings per month at BFI Southbank. The meetings will include talks from leading film programmers as well as discussion of the submitted films.

The BFI Future Film Festival supports young filmmakers and film enthusiasts aged 16-25 from all across the UK and internationally. The festival is packed with practical workshops, industry masterclasses, panel Q&As, and networking opportunities. We also screen and give awards to the best short films that have been submitted to us by young filmmakers aged 16-25. The 10th edition of the festival will take place between 15-19 February 2017.

To apply please email your completed application form (see below)to FFF.coordinator@bfi.org.uk before the closing date below. Please include ‘Pre-Selection Panel’ in the email subject header.

Please note, this is an unpaid position.

The closing date for applications is 19 September 2016.
