Consultations and publications

The BFI is the Government’s lead body for film in the UK and a distributor of Lottery funds for film.

Our role is to help film at home and abroad. We help ensure that public policy supports British film, by influencing regulatory and competition issues affecting film in the UK.

Regulatory and competition issues include those raised by the UK Government, by the devolved administrations, as well as by the European Commission and the Council of Europe. These impact film education, learning and audience choice, on the success of British film and on unlocking our film heritage.
