In October 2007 the DCMS announced a £25 million investment in support of the Screen Heritage UK. The Strategy was drawn up by the UK Film Heritage Group in consultation with a wide group of stakeholders. It is now being taken forward as a programme of projects under the title 'Screen Heritage UK'.

Film: 21st Century Literacy is the first UK-wide film education strategy and has been drawn up by a partnership of leading film organisations, including the BFI. Its aim is to provide a consistent, joined-up approach to film education in the UK, so all children and young people have equal opportunities to watch, understand, and make films.
