Individual support

The BFI is a charity. We champion the diversity of film culture. Every year we reach millions through our range of activities spanning from film heritage to the latest developments in moving image.

To achieve our vision we rely on the support of individuals who believe in our work. Find out more about some of the BFI projects supported by kind individuals.

There are many ways in which you can support us:

Make a gift

If you are interested in making a donation towards one of our BFI projects from a restoration to an education programme, then please contact Jemma Tabraham (+44 (0) 20 7849 4486 / jemma.tabraham@bfi.org.uk).

Join as a BFI Patron

As a BFI Patron you can support the BFI and enjoy access to exclusive events and benefits which draw on the expertise of the BFI curators, as well as the excellence to be found in our Film Programme, Film Festivals, Gallery and Archives. For more information, contact Claire Alfrey (+44 (0) 20 7815 1400 / patrons@bfi.org.uk).

Consider us in your will

Imagine the difference that a gift in your will would make to the BFI. You could direct it towards helping a particular strand of our work, such as looking after the BFI National Archive. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact Jemma Tabraham (+44 (0) 207 849 4486 / jemma.tabraham@bfi.org.uk).

UK tax payers

If you are a UK tax payer, then for every £1 you give to the BFI, we will receive an extra 28p from HMRC at no extra cost to you through the Gift Aid scheme. Download the Gift Aid form here. If you are a UK higher rate tax payer you can also claim tax relief through your tax return of 18% - the difference between the standard rate of income tax (22%) and the higher rate (40%).

US tax payers

If you are a US taxpayer you can support the BFI by giving to the Friends of the British Film Institute, a 501 (c) (3) charity. Your gift will be tax deductible for US income tax purposes, reducing the cost of the donation by up to 35%. For more information, please contact Jemma Tabraham (+44 (0) 207 849 4486 / jemma.tabraham@bfi.org.uk).
