Archive Support Engineer
David started his career in film in 1989 working for FilmLab Systems as an installation and maintenance engineer for film printers, analysers, and many other film related products. His interest in hardware and programming were soon used in the modification of FilmLab hardware and software to support changes in customer requirements and new technologies. After the acquisition of FilmLab Systems by RTI David became technical manager for the UK, continuing film software and hardware development while overseeing film processor production in a small factory.
At BFI David supports the film and digital departments in their day to day action by maintaining vital equipment, developing alternatives to obsolescence, and helping to CAD and document previously undocumented equipment for its continued operation into the future.
