Carolyne Bevan

With a background in public library and local government archives, Carolyne joined the BFI in 1998 as part of the special collections team, where she has worked in various roles ever since. As a special collections archivist she is responsible for cataloguing key acquisitions in the BFI’s massive collection of unpublished scripts, personal papers, company archives and thousands of items of Film and TV related ephemera.

She curated the BFI Southbank exhibition Illusion and Forgetfulness: 50 Years of Bernstein Cinemas, exploring the BFI’s spectacular Granada Cinema collection. Her areas of special interest include 1970s historical TV drama and British comedy films of the 1930s and 40s.
