Dylan Cave

Dylan is collections development manager at the BFI National Archive, where he leads in delivering procedures for acquiring moving image into the national collection. As a curator in the fiction team from 2006 to 2016, Dylan was responsible for the acquisition of contemporary British features, short films and music videos, and co-programmed the ‘Projecting the Archive’ strand at the BFI Southbank.

He has curated film programmes about the last days of the British Empire, written about hip-hop and movies, and co-devised a number of BFI Player collections exploring cultural diversity in the UK. He has written for Sight and Sound, the British Council and preservation journals The Moving Image and Journal of Film Preservation, as well as being a substantial contributor to BFI Screenonline. He recently contributed chapters to the books Films that Sell and Black Star.
