An Actor’s Revenge is the story of actor Yukinojo, a Kabuki female impersonator who uses his theatrical skills to deceive and destroy the men who drove his parents to suicide. Sexually ambiguous and formally innovative, it is the most stylised and ambitious of Ichikawa's films, and represents the summit of his achievement as a craftsman.
