Don’t Make Waves
Dir. Alexander Mackendrick
US 1967 | Colour | 85 mins | Comedy | Hollywood Classics
Cast: Tony Curtis, Claudia Cardinale, Sharon Tate
Based on Ira Wallach’s hip 60s novel, ‘Muscle Beach’, Mackendrick’s last film has Curtis selling swimming pools to the rich and famous of California, and Sharon Tate’s screen debut. A satire on muscle-bound beach bums and greedy businessmen, this is as anarchic and visually engaging as any of Mackendrick’s better known films.
