Humphrey Jennings, widely considered Britain’s greatest documentary director, is best known for his short films which beautifully evoke everyday heroism in times of war and peace. Combining poetic observation with subtle yet intense national feeling, they remain an inspiration to countless modern filmmakers. This is a compilation of four of his best films, newly restored by the BFI National Archive.
