Cast: James Stewart, Josephine Hull, Peggy Dow
Amiable drunk Elwood P Dowd (Stewart) has a friend named Harvey – a six foot imaginary rabbit. Elwood’s sister (Hull) sees this misapprehension as a definite problem and tries to get him certified. However, Stewart lends his character, and the film as a whole, such charm and naivety that we see the phantasm for theamusing and harmless flight of fancy that it really is.
