Cabaret performer Amy Jolly (Marlene Dietrich) takes a one-way ticket to Morocco. Advised to find a protector in Mogador, she takes advantage of the recently arrived soldiers who flock to her shows. She rebuffs the attentions of wealthy La Bessière (Menjou) and falls instead for Foreign Legion officer Tom Brown (Cooper). Is her life of teasing and seduction over? Has she found true love?
