Gerry Jeffers (Colbert) decides to help her engineer husband Tom (McCrea) by leaving him and running away to Palm Beach. Once she is there she meets an eccentric millionaire (Rudy Vallee) and hatches a plot to get Tom the money he needs to finance his latest project. But as Tom must pretend to be Captain McGlew, he opens himself up to the voracious appetite of the millionaire’s man-hungry sister Maud (Astor). Can Tom avoid Maud’s advances and get Gerry back?
