Tiresia

In this retelling of the classic Greek myth, Tiresia is a beautiful Brazilian transsexual, living illegally with her brother in Paris. Coveted by Terranova, a poet and an aesthete, he likens her to the perfect rose and so kidnaps her to keep as his own. Deprived of her daily hormones, Tiresia reverts before Terranova’s very eyes. Angered by his helplessness, he blinds her and leaves her for dead in the countryside. Discovered and cared for by a country girl, Tiresia develops a gift for premonition and is persecuted by the parish priest as a result.
