Future learning and skills

Giving everyone the educational opportunity to build a lifelong relationship with film.

Education is at the heart of the BFI. Following a wide consultation we have developed a new set of priorities for BFI2022, our new five year strategy.

We have organised our proposals around three themes:

  • Reaching out to the next generation of audiences.
  • Advocating for the value of film in education.
  • Developing a new professional skills framework.

To achieve this we will continue to work with our key partners – Into Film, the BFI Film Academy partners around the UK, Creative Skillset, and with film educators in the Film Audience Network and other venues.

Underlying this will be our continued determination to turn the knowledge, experience and assets held by the BFI into rich resources for education, lifelong learning and training.
