Cathy Poole was Head of English and Special Needs in a comprehensive school before moving into the moving image exhibition sector. She was Head of Learning at Watershed for ten years, then Education Advisor at South West Screen. She has been a Visiting Lecturer at Bristol and UWE universities and is the convenor of the MovIES group (Moving Image Education Specialists).

Sue Porter has taught film from BTEC to undergraduate level and currently teaches at De Montford University. As well as freelancing at the Lincolnshire Film Consortium (CineLinks), she programmes archive film across the East and West Midlands and co-organises the British Silent Film Festival.

Brian Winston is a former governor of the bfi and currently a Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of Lincoln. His interests include documentary film and the history of media technology. He was also the first director of the Glasgow Media Group.
