Screen Dreams exhibition at school
Schools are encouraged to create their own Screen Dreams exhibition in school. The work may be part of a larger arts project and include elements of drama, dance and music which could be performed to the rest of the school and families to launch the exhibition.
Depending on how involved you make the rest of the school the exhibition could:
- Be classroom based, with other groups invited to tour the exhibition
- Add materials from your own study of local cinemas, photographs and collected testimonies/interviews
- Be set up in the hall or foyer, encouraging other visitors to the school to explore the exhibition too
- Include somewhere for people to add their memories and experiences of cinema. What design would suit this, e.g. a memory wall, a dreams' screen?
- Invite people to vote for their favourite film. You could offer different categories, e.g. from a particular genre, animation/live action, favourite film of all time. You could even have a staff poll, children's poll, parents' poll. The winner(s), if available, could be screened as an end of term entertainment.
- You may decide to make your own film and this could be shown to the rest of the school or at your local cinema.
