Fame is the Spur

GB, 1947 d Roy Boulting

"They were both intellectual socialists, Roy and John, and tried to make a contribution with films like Fame is the Spur. I was in that, I played a young radical Welsh miner, who makes a statement.

"All I have to say really is that I loved Roy and I don't know how I would have survived without him. I first met Roy when I was a young actor just out of the war. He simply did everything he could till the end of his days to help me. The truth is like many other people he kept me afloat. I doubt I would be sitting here today were it not for Roy Boulting. He was always there and I miss him very much."
