The Islamic world is in crisis with the publication of Salman Rushdie's Satanic Verses. Rushdie wants Pakistan, the stronghold of Islam, to fall. Determined to foil his plans are a trio of brothers who form a holy army to destroy Rushdie. The film was initially denied a certificate by British censors. The ban was subsequently lifted after Rushdie himself intervened, and the film was shown on British television. Critic Omar Khan describes the film as "a quite masterful and brilliantly opportunistic film that manages to expertly fictionalise the entire Salman Rushdie Satanic Verses issue and present it as a demented pseudo-religious fairy tale - a stroke of rare genius. A historic Lollywood masterwork not to be missed at any cost."
