Boy on a Dolphin (1957)

Film details

Synopsis

Diving for sponges off the coast of the Greek island of Hydra, Phaedra, the poor owner of a windmill, discovers a ship sunk many centuries earlier, with a magnificent statue of a golden boy riding a dolphin on it. Word of this find spreads to an American archaeologist, who wants to preserve the statue for the Greek nation, and an unscrupulous rich art collector who wants to keep it for himself. Phaedra finds herself torn between helping these men, as she needs money to look after her little brother, and the honest course of action involves no payment.
