Bullitt (1968)

British director Peter Yates was the first of many to turn the hills and bends of San Francisco into a dream car chase race track in this truly iconic 60s cop movie. Justifiably famous for Steve McQueen’s taciturn cool, his ability to rock a sweater and his trusty Mustang, this policer thrums with both Lalo Schifrin’s jazzy score and the sound of screaming wheels.
