Film details

Synopsis

Saga of the covetous David and the sinning Bathsheba.

The following statement regarding the story appears after the opening credits: 'Three thousand years ago, David of Bethlehem ruled over the United tribes of Israel. This story of King David's reign is based on one of the world's oldest historical narratives, written by an anonymous chronicler in the Second Book of Samuel of the Old Testament. The Israelites were at war with their traditional enemy, the Ammonites. King David's army under the command of Joab, camped on the outskirts of the city of Rabbah, stronghold of the enemy.'
