How to Steal a Million (1966)

Film details

Charles Bonnet, a master forger of paintings, lives in Paris with his daughter Nicole, who is always urging him to go straight. When a fake Cellini sculpture carved by Bonnet's grandfather goes on display under high security in a museum, Bonnet is alarmed to learn that its authenticity is to be tested as part of the insurance process. Nicole enlists a burglar, Simon Dermott, whom she has caught sneaking around in the Bonnets' house, to help her to steal the sculpture from the museum before its true origins can be established. Dermott fears the security cannot be overcome, but when he observes the museum's daily cleaning system, and buys a children's novelty toy in the park, his plan is hatched.
