Film details


In ancient Baghdad, a poor poet and his daughter Marsinah barely get by. Things change when he is mistaken for a certain beggar and is abducted and thrust into the political world of palaces and rulers, passing himself off as a man of great prophetic gifts. Meanwhile, Marsinah has met the young Caliph, and they have fallen in love, without knowing each other's identity. The poet attempts to use his position to bring about a happy ending for the young lovers.
