MIQUETTE ET SA MERE (1949)

Film details

Synopsis

Clouzot in atypically light-hearted mood with a frothy farce about a stagestruck young woman being offered dubious encouragement by a ham actor (Louis Jouvert on ferociously extrovert form). A fine cast joins in the high spirits, but it's Clouzot's sly satirical stabs at Belle Epoque manners that are the most characteristic of his customary scepticism.
