Synopsis
Tells the story of an ordinary family and how it is affected by the Second World War. Mr Bunting loses his job but is brought back when war breaks out due to the shortage of workers. Both his sons join up and one is presumed killed but the family later finds out he has been taken prisoner. Their son Chris marries in a bombed out church and his wife gives birth during an air raid. Their youngest daughter Julie goes to work in a factory.
