Synopsis
Messalina's excesses and affairs continue unbeknownst to Claudius but know by the rest of Rome. When she openly marries again there is a real threat to Claudius's position and Pallas persuades Calpurnia to reveal to Claudius what Messalina has been doing. The guards are sent in and hurt and grief-stricken by the revelationof Messalina's true character, Claudius drinks heavily and Pallas ensures that Messalina does not have access to Claudius. Whilst drunk they trick Claudius into signing her execution warrant. Much to his dislike Claudius is made a god in Britain and a temple erected to him.
