Synopsis

Fantasy musical shot in live-action but featuring an animated dragon. Maine at the turn of the century. Pete, a nine-year-old orphan who has escaped the clutches of the cruel Gogan family, travels to the coastal town of Passamaquoddy, accompanied by Elliott, a dragon who can turn invisible at will and who looks after Pete. There Pete is taken in by the local lighthouse keeper, Lampy, and his daughter Nora, whose fiancé Paul is lost at sea. Nora still hopes the day will come when Paul returns though. Meanwhile, the evil quack Doc Terminus has appeared in town, selling his fake medicines. When he hears rumours of a dragon he is very interested, as he can make all sorts of potions from a dead dragon. So when the Gogans turn up looking for Pete, Doc Terminus teams up with them to find both the boy and his dragon.
