Saying good-bye to a demi-mondaine, a young man tells her that he is to be married the next day. A year afterwards, she comes to his window because she is starving. He tells her that he is married to the sweetest and purest women in the world. They hear her coming and he hides behind a curtain. The women recognise each other as old comrades and the wife says that she is tired of her husband. The man is about to shoot her, but turns the gun on himself. When he falls dead the demi-mondaine bends over him lovingly.
