Romantic comedy thriller. David Pollock, an American professor of ancient scripts at Oxford University, is compelled to decipher a strip of heiroglyphics by a sinister shipping magnate while trapped in a London house, and soon he finds himself embroiled in a criminal plot involving a Middle Eastern prime minister. Pollock is by turns aided and hindered by the glamorous and mysterious Yasmin, apparently the magnate's mistress but (Pollock soon learns) happy to work against him.
