Shows varieties of healing and religion amongst the Barolong, a Bantu tribe of South Africa. Christianity has combined with ancestor-worship, and churchgoers secretly use witchdoctors when in trouble, In black South Africa there is a massive, expanding movement of ecstatic healing sects, which the film explores in detail, looking at their prophets, rites, and political implications
