Synopsis

Documentary investigation of the conditions for Russians in the large cities in the USSR with the imminence of the Olympic Games. With the aid of film shot by dissidents in Moscow, a picture of a purge of the city is built up. Contains film shot in the USSR without official permission in which certain dissidents including Alexander Larut, Irena Orlov and Andrei Sakharov describe the pre-Olympic terror campaign which they say led to even greater repression and purges in the USSR. Also includes interviews with Vladimir Borisov and Andrei Akulov, dissidents who have been expelled to the West. nb.: Not available non-theatrically for copyright reasons.
