Synopsis

Unorthodox documentary following 'punk poet' John Cooper Clarke. Features live performances of his poetry, interviews with music journalists and a three-way discussion/reading with fellow poets Jules Deedling and Michèle Roberts, plus dramatisations and visualisations of poems and tracks from his LPs, with music by Martin Hannett and The Invisible Girls. The film also touches on Clarke's contemporaries on the early 1980s poetry scene, including dub poet Linton Kwesi Johnson and 'ranting poets' Attlia the Stockbroker and Seething Wells.
