Synopsis

Final programme in series tracing the history of world drama. Ronald Harwood takes a personal view of the theatrical forces of the twentieth-century. Extracts from pionnering plays including `Look Back in Anger', a marionette version of `Ubu Roi', `Six Characters in Search of an Author', `Marat-Sade', archive of Brecht and Grotowski's Theatre Laboratory, `Waiting for Godot' and `The Caretaker'.
