Three boys and three girls aged 15 and 16 conduct an exploration of science and technology in Britain over a three week period. Their investigations cover a wide variety of topics from monotonous assembly work to advanced research in lasers and particle physics. They interview engineers, nurses, deep sea divers, botanists, biochemists and airline pilots about lifestyles, motivations and money. First transmitted in 1978
