Synopsis

Taking its title from a Tagore poem, focuses on two individuals, Bhrigu and Anasuya, who belong to rival theatrical groups, and the chasm that separates them. They come together for a joint production, a staging of the classic Shakuntalam. Anasuya has lost her mother in the communal riots and is searching for something more than the narrow path laid out for her by her family. Her divided mind mirrors the divided leadership of the People's Theatre and, ultimately, of divided Bengal.
