Documentary about Marilyn Monroe based on the one long interview she ever gave, in 1960, to French journalist Georges Belmont. She talks of her childhood, life with various adoptive parents and in an orphanage, her first appearance in Hollywood, her perfectionism and her courses at the New York Actors' Studio. Today, Catherine Deneuve listens to the interview, and responds to it and to Marilyn's work.
