Surrealist 'documentary' on the scientific origins of the myth of vampirism. Unconventionally using a jazz score to accompany scientific images of blood-imbibing organisms and, finally, the attack of a South American vampire bat on a guinea pig, the film mounts a scandalous attack on bourgeois scientific norms. Music by Duke Ellington: "Black and Tan Fantasy" and "Echoes of the Jungle".
