Synopsis

Documentary about the life of opera singer Maria Callas. Traces Callas' life from her childhood in New York to her death in Paris at the age of 53 years. Her life was like an opera. She transformed herself from a fat little girl to a world renowned lady of elegance and glamour, but at the height of her career, she renounced it all for the love of a man, who eventually left her - Aristotle Onassis. The film charts her life with rare film footage and interviews with Robert Sutherland, Carlo Maria Giulini, Franco Zeffirelli and Giuseppe di Stefano.
