Looks at the treatment and care of women with breast cancer in the UK as compared to other countries, such as America and Sweden which have fewer deaths. The scale of the disease in Britain and the late reporting of symptoms by many of its victims are examined. Includes interviews with Prof. Sir Patrick Forrest, author of the report on which the government's breast-screening programme is based, Prof. Jocelyn Chamberlain, head of the Screening Evaulation Unit, Prof. Michael Baum of the Royal Marsden Hospital, and the team from St. Margaret's, Epping, who are in the forefront of the fight against breast cancer.
