The current state of football stadium architecture in Europe, and the situation faced by Britain's football stadia in the light of the Taylor report which followed the Hillsborough disaster. In Italy and America top architects have been invited to design sports stadia that reflect there purpose as public theatre and focus of national or community aspirations. Jonathan Glancey, architectual writer of the Independent, invites a number of architects to suggest their designs for a British football stadium. Other contributors include football players and fans.
