Synopsis

An interview with Ernest Gellner, Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Sociology, London School of Economics. He and Bryan Magee set contemporary philosophy against its social background and show how its central concerns have arisen out of deep-seated historical changes in the Western world. They end with a discussion of probable future developments.
