Introduction

Rookie police officer John ‘JJ’ Johnson (Boatman) is the first black deputy in the LA sheriff’s department, where racial tensions are palpable. His only ally is Fields (Petty), the first and only female officer. As JJ becomes increasingly aware of police corruption and discrimination during the murder trial of a man he helped arrest (Ice Cube), he must face difficult and potentially dangerous decisions.
