The programme charts the rise of Carol White, the actress who made the role of down-trodden, working-class victims her own; notably in films such as UP THE JUNCTION, POOR COW and CATHY COME HOME and her subsequent fall via drugs and alcohol which led to an untimely death at the age of 48, homeless and penniless in Miami.
