Synopsis

Based on the real-life story of Lucie and Raymond Aubrac who now live in Paris. Lucie and Raymond meet in Strasbourg in 1939 and fall in love. They pledge to meet every year afterwards on May 14th. They marry in December 1939 after the outbreak of World War II. Both join the Resistance. Raymond Samuel is Jewish, Aubrac being his alias in the Resistance. The film covers the period May 1943-February 1994 in the life of Lucie Aubrac who is pregnant and risks her life to save Raymond (who is Jewish) from death row in Montluc jail.
