Synopsis

2 part mini-series adapted from the Robert Louis Stevenson's novel set in 18th Century Scotland. Lowlander David Balfour is kidnapped at his uncle's behest to prevent him claiming his inheritance and property. He is taken on board ship bound for America, which also picks up Alan Breck Stewart, a Jacobite rebel, when he mistakes her for a French ship. David and Alan fight against the Captain and crew and are shipwrecked off the Scottish coast in a storm. The two help each other and David finds himself hunted as a criminal. He helps to rescue Alan from prison when the latter is caught trying to find the man guilty of shooting the Red Fox, for which crime James of the Glen is charged. Alan in turns assists him in tricking his uncle and regaining his inheritance.
