Fistful of Flies (1996)

Film details

Three generations of wilful Italo-Australian women struggle to assert their identities in a small town in rural Australia. Sixteen year-old Mars finds it the hardest as her determination to get an education conflicts with her family and her own growing sensuality. When her parents become obsessed with whether she is a virgin, Mars decides to make a stand. She challenges her father's abusive domination of the household and in the confrontation, the women gain strength from each other. Things will never be the same again.
