Synopsis

Set in Kansas in 1960. Clay Hewitt, a drifter with a dark secret, is given work on property owned by widow Delilah Ashford Potts who has a son who is incapable of social interaction and has a dangerously submissive relationship with his mother. Clay befriends the boy and begins to bring him out of his shell, to the horror of Delilah who does her utmost to break the boy down again.
