A Map of the World (1999)

Film details

Synopsis

Drama. Alice Goodwin is a wife and mother of two children, who also works as a part-time nurse in a small town in Wisconsin. Her attitude and demeanour does not always sit well with the inhabitants of the community, and she is seen as an outsider. When a tragic accident occurs and a two-year-old child she is babysitting accidentally drowns, Alice believes she is guilty and is griefstricken. To add to her trauma, a neighbour's son accuses her of sexual abuse, leading to her incarceration in prison since her husband cannot find the necessary fee to free her on bail.
